Kayseri, a city in central Turkey, has a long history of producing high-quality rugs. The city and its art have been immensely influenced by its history which dates back to the Hittites, Romans, and Ottomans where rug weaving has been a significant craft. With weavers maintaining the traditional methods including intricate designs and details, Kayseri carpets are highly desired.

Double knot is a traditional weaving technique where each knot is tied twice, creating a very secure and tight weave, resulting in more resistance to wear and tear.

A wool on cotton rug has wool that is tied around a cotton base which combines the durability and softness of wool with the flexibility and strength of a cotton foundation.
