Traditionally, Konya Sofra kilims were used during meals, spread out on the floor or table where the food was served. This was to prevent food from touching the floor as it was considered a blessing.

The method, known as a flatweave (Düz Dokuma) involves beating cotton till it turns into something like felted material resulting in softness. Cicim alongside a flatweave technique provides a strong carpet with decorative details. This combination results in a smooth and flat base with raised and textured patterns that bring depth to the design and make them attractive for display purposes.

High-quality wool ensures the carpet's durability and gives it a natural gloss, which makes the colours to appear stronger.
